What is a ‘CheckSynchronize’ error when I try to record?

This is caused by overly-aggressive anti-virus software (usually Symantec) interfering with FlashBack. 

When FlashBack attempts to update its own settings files, the anti-virus mistakenly thinks that it is malicious software and blocks it from changing those files.

You can try adding an exception within the anti-virus software for the FlashBack apps or the FlashBack installation folder.
